Memorial Grove Restoration
Memorial Grove was dedicated to those from Worcester that made the ultimate sacrifice in World War I. Help us restore it for the 100th Anniversary.
A go Fund me page has been created to help us raise funds needed for this restoration https://gofundme.com/28f8c5vq. Brian McCarthy (President of the GHPC) is spearheading this initiative along with the Worcester Parks and Recreation Department. Funds are needed to make this restoration a success. Funds are needed for an Honor Roll, new walk way, restoring the sign and tree planting. A number of trees have been donated and more will be planted. When Memorial Grove was created 1 tree was planted for each Soul that was lost from Worcester in WWI. We also have a Facebook page @MemorialGroveAtGreenHillPark
So far the Worcester Tree Initiative has donated trees and we have had Sheriff Evangelidis’ Community Service Crew clear brush. We have received help from local colleges as well (Holy Cross had approx. 30 students there on August 24, 2016 and WPI is helping design the layout.) If you would like to help please contact us using the contact page of our website.
